Care Guide
1. Oak Boards:
Our Weathered Oak boards are sold untreated and unoiled. We recommend treating them with our Wood Butter or Mineral Oil before use to help protect the surface and prevent staining or discolouration. -Other food safe oils, like olive oil, would also be okay to use.
Please note that once oiled, the oak will naturally darken slightly, enhancing the richness of the wood’s grain and character.
To keep your serving board looking beautiful and lasting for years:
- Regular Oiling – Apply food-safe mineral oil or our Wood Butter regularly. This helps preserve the wood, prevent cracking, and maintain its natural grain.
- Frequency – We recommend oiling once every few weeks with regular use, or whenever the wood starts looking dry.
- Cleaning – Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Never soak in water or place in the dishwasher.
- Storage – Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme heat which may cause warping.
With proper care, your board will age beautifully and remain a timeless piece in your home.
2. Tea Towels
- Machine wash at 40˚C. Warm iron. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean.
